What's on the inside counts; New interior for Caliber shows promise for all Dodge models

The Dodge Caliber got a completely redesigned interior for 2010, and that work was well done. The Caliber dropped its high-performance SRT4 model, as well as its 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine option. The Dodge Caliber is comfortable and practical, but it has one major fault -- poor visibility. Visibility.

Doing a lot with a little; Smaller engine proves just right for Audi's looker

I was impressed with the Audi A5's stunning looks when it debuted for 2008, but I didn't like its 3.2-liter V-6. I discovered that the car is at its best in its most affordable, least powerful guise: the A5 2.0T. This one's just right. Performance. In the car world -- especially the sports car world -- the thinking is that the more powerful the engine, the better the driving experience.

Ask Cars.com: xB has good adult backseat passenger room

Q: What should I replace my 2002 PT Cruiser with? A: To keep that low-to-the-ground factor and hatchback usability, check out the 2011 Scion xB. The 2002 PT is rated at 17/23 mpg city/highway using the EPA's adjusted ratings, which took effect in 2008. As for being comfortable, you'll have to step inside an xB and determine for yourself.

Ask Cars.com: Commercial truck offers carlike ride

Q: Does the Ford Transit Connect handle more like a truck or a car? You might expect the Transit Connect to have an industrial, trucklike ride because it's a commercial vehicle, but that's not the case. Cars.com editor Mike Hanley writes in his review of the Connect: "One of the biggest contributing factors to the van's car-like driving experience is its steering response.

Ask Cars.com: Inflexible case may not fit in Charger's trunk

Q: Can a golf club travel case fit in the trunk of a Dodge Charger? A: We've fit multiple golf bags into the trunk of a 2010 Dodge Charger. You're not out of luck if the rental has a folding rear seat. Not all Chargers have this feature -- just the Rallye, R/T and SRT8. © 2010, Cars.com.

Sorento's aesthetics appeal to mom; Classy-looking crossover works well for families seeking economy

While test-driving the 2011 Kia Sorento, I found myself behind a two-door soft-top Kia Sportage, circa 1995 or so. Looks aren't the only place that Kia has made improvements, however. With a V-6 engine, acceleration was smooth and relatively quick, and the ride was smooth and pleasantly uneventful. The Sorento starts at $22,395. Exterior.

Kicking Tires: Love/hate relationship with 2010 Acura TSX

I've had the opportunity to drive a few luxury sedans over the past month, making it easier than usual to see how the Acura TSX stacks up against its competitors. Love: V-6 performance. The TSX looked nice enough at first glance. Hate: Digital display.

Ford announced recently that it is installing Wi-Fi access points at assembly lines for vehicles using the latest Sync systems. Whenever the company updates Sync -- which technically can be done throughout a model year's life -- the newest version will be zapped into the cars on the line. © 2010, Cars.com.
